Access Industries is a private holding company and global investment firm founded by Len Blavatnik, based in New York. Established in 1986, Access Industries has been investing for over three decades.
The company’s holdings are diverse and global, with a value of USD 35 billion. Its investment portfolio spans a range of sectors: Strategic Equity, Global Media, Real Estate, Entertainment, Technology and Biotechnology.
Among Access Industries’ principal holdings in Strategic Equity are LYB LyondellBasell, one of the world’s largest chemical and refining companies; Calpine, the largest US generator of electricity from natural gas and geothermal resources; and bmc, a leading software vendor serving 86% of the Forbes Global 50.
In the Global Media, Access Industries owns Warner Music Group, one of the most successful recorded music and publishing companies in history. In addition, Access Industries owns a large majority stake in DAZN, a global live sports and streaming platform.
In the Entertainment sector, the company holds A24 – Investments in premium quality TV, film, theatre, and the creator economy; Spotter – Empowering top YouTube creators to accelerate their business and unleash full creative potential.
Access Industries also owns significant real estate investments, including the Grand-Hôtel du Cap-Ferrat, a premier hotel property on 17 acres of landscaped gardens in the Côte d’Azur. In 2014 Access acquired the Ocean Club on Paradise Island in The Bahamas, a 36-acre beachfront site. Access Industries also has real estate investments in Argentina, where the Faena Group developed the Faena Art District in Buenos Aires. This 300,000-square-meter construction space began with the reconstruction of the El Porteño Building and the creation of the Faena Hotel +Universe. Faena hotels and residences are among the finest real estate in the US and Latin America.
Access also invests in leading technology operations. Among its key holdings are Digital Ocean, a cloud infrastructure provider, and Chime, a fintech company providing online banking services.
In the biotechnology sector, Access participated in Disc Medicine investments in transformative therapies for conditions with high unmet needs.
